Welcome to SIGs/PSGs

RESNA is committed to the creation of online communities whose members share a common interest in some aspect of disability and assistive technology.

Special Interest Group (SIG) membership is issue centric; that is, SIG members typically share a common interest in a single (or closely related) issue(s).

Professional Specialty Group (PSG) are discipline centric; that is, PSG members typically comprise a single (or a few related) fields or discipline(s).

Special Interest Groups (SIGs)

The RESNA Special Interest Groups (SIGs) provide specialty-specific networking for a communication network within the rehabilitation community, one intended to address the diverse needs of consumers, physicians, engineers, providers, therapists and industry. Each individual SIG fulfills this need within a specialty area.

Collectively, SIG activities foster a cross-fertilization of ideas among the various disciplines. Participation in RESNA SIGs connects AT professionals from diverse backgrounds with those that share similar interests and enables RESNA members to participate directly in formulating and implanting policies that enhance the delivery of technology to persons with disabilities.

Professional Specialty Groups (PSGs)

Professional Specialty Groups (PSGs) allow RESNA members to form connections with others based on their primary professional identities: therapists, engineers, educators, suppliers and manufacturers. The PSGs also serve as an important peer support and networking resource for RESNA members whose high interest in assistive technology is not always well supported within their primary profession. PSG chairs and vice chairs help RESNA develop the next generation of volunteer leadership and support their members in developing strategies that improve relationships with other PSGs and professional associations. PSGs are a primary means to build support RESNA members at their grass roots.
